CLUB SAFETY MESSAGE: AWARENESS & RESPONSIBILITY
Dear Green Gully Families,
We want to take a moment to acknowledge recent reports regarding attempted child abduction in the Brighton area, which may have caused concern within our wider community.
While there is no direct threat to our club, the safety and well-being of every player remains our top priority. As a proactive measure, we’d like to remind all families of some important child safety practices both at training and during tournaments:
Parent Pick-Up & Supervision
Players must be collected promptly at the end of training and games.
If a parent is running late, please notify your coach, team manager, or group chat so we can ensure a responsible adult stays with your child.
Players are not to leave the training ground or facilities unsupervised.
Stranger Awareness
Encourage your child to be aware of their surroundings and avoid interactions with unknown individuals.
Let them know it's always okay to walk away and alert an adult if they feel uncomfortable.
Report any suspicious activity immediately to a staff member or coach.
Tournaments & Crowded Venues
During tournaments, parents/guardians remain responsible for their child’s whereabouts in between games.
We advise checking in with your team manager before leaving tournament venues and staying within designated team zones.
As a club, we are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment. These reminders are part of ensuring our whole community plays a role in keeping all players safe.
If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact us directly.
Thank you for your cooperation and care.
– Green Gully Soccer Club 💚
